Lollywood here we come!

ComfyUI LA meetup Feb 19th

Hello there, and welcome to the Common Thread Newsletter by FBRC.AI.

This newsletter will keep you updated on the latest advances in AI-driven creativity. We are a team of industry veterans, entrepreneurs, creatives, and technologists building Hollywood X!

London stands at the centre of a global film resurgence.

Recent reporting from the Evening Standard shows that London is hosting almost as many film and TV productions as Los Angeles in 2025, driven by billions in inward investment, world-class crews, and expanding studio infrastructure.

The Mayor of London echoed this momentum, highlighting the city’s long-standing strength as a global filmmaking hub supported by sustained investment, a deep talent pipeline, state-of-the-art facilities, and iconic locations. He also reaffirmed his commitment to growing the creative economy and supporting high-quality jobs.

New benchmarking from London & Partners (Grow London) adds critical context. In a global analysis of media and entertainment ecosystems—evaluating sector valuation, market size, and growth potential—Los Angeles ranks #1 globally, with London close behind at #2. The rest of the top tier spans New York, Tokyo, San Francisco, Paris, Stockholm, Montreal, Singapore, Toronto, Seoul, Berlin, and other major global hubs.

What’s particularly notable:

  • London has more investors with media and gaming investment experience than Los Angeles (1,653 vs. 1,092), spanning VCs, corporates, angels, and family offices.

  • London and LA now host nearly the same number of motion picture and video companies, according to Financial Times data (2024 figures: LA ~18,849; London ~17,781), underscoring how close the two ecosystems have become in scale.

  • London’s strength lies not just in production volume, but in its density of capital, creative talent, and emerging technology—a full-stack screen ecosystem built for what comes next.

At FBRC, this aligns directly with our thesis.

We see the future of storytelling as global, networked, and AI-native, shaped by hubs where talent, infrastructure, and intelligent tools converge. London has emerged as one of those hubs. That is why we are expanding our international network and bringing AI on the Lot to London this February.
